What do you know?

Not much sun at night

You’ll have noticed by now

But you can still see the green fields

And feel the way through

In school they asked you your name

They made you remember the capital of France

Today no one makes you do anything

And you work in the line making things to fill boxes

Twenty years in between

Where did they go?

What have you seen?

What do you know?

Saturday

See that sun in the sky

It’s going down tonight

Someone’s getting hurt

I’m in the mood

Leave the bird in her cage

And drink a few

Better off without her face

I want some food

Never enough pigs on the wing

Not enough at home

Be quiet indoors a few more days

Till the bruises go down

While the boots on the other foot

They can kick it around

But I’m the man

Its me its all about

If we win

You might even make it home tonight

Things to do

Got to give, got to give,

All my mind to the solution

To the question

Whatever it may be

You were calling, calling

But all I heard

Was what I wanted to

And a thousand thoughts

Crashed upon my mind

But in the confusion, the confusion

I couldn’t find

Bombarded with information

All escalation

And you were calling

I couldn’t tell

I gave up problems

They’re too much problem

Now all I have

Are things to do.

I don’t know what you’ve been saying

I don’t see where you’ve been going

I don’t know what you’ve been knowing

And I don’t like to be around.

In the end

I want to drop this annoying habit

Of putting words in the wrong order

I always say the wrong thing

In the end

I saw time go by the other day

And I didn’t realise it went so fast

Much of it’s the same

In the end

If all things were like Lego

I know my designed, cut ideas

Would all fit where they should

In the end

When it comes around

Oh, that familiar sound

It makes no difference

In the end

In the end

Everything you believe

Is relative to yourself

So if you want to, laugh

In the end

For the first time today

I saw you since yesterday

But you’re the same

In the end.

Here and yesterday

Asleep but yet awake

I wanted silence but there was noise

And all around me

Were things I did not want

So I went to a party

And there were all my friends

But still it was not

Where I wanted to be

Out in the world

The people lived on

Whilst I just looked

For something to do

The problems were there

But I didn’t care

And I’d leave them behind

If I could

It was here and yesterday

That my dreams went away
